ALBION SC ENTERS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH BYGA TO BRING INNOVATION

ALBION SC AND BYGA BRING SOLUTIONS

ALBION SC with great excitement is announcing the strategic partnership with Byga to build technology into soccer clubs that solve real problems and evolve how a club can operate. We are looking forward to the future and working together to enhance the game off the field so the game will be better on the field.

With technology playing an increasingly critical role in every aspect of club operations, ALBION SC leadership recognized the need to accelerate the development of digital solutions to ensure the growing network of clubs remain on the competitive vanguard. The ALBION-Byga partnership brings together deep skills in club operations and technology strategy, technology development and deployment, and organizational management to help support coaches, players, and families throughout their club playing experience.

“We researched and brought to the table teams of technology companies in and outside of the soccer space. While each had features that were unique, Byga stood out in terms of their understanding of real world applications and challenges our administrators, coaches, and family members contend with to stay fully connected to relevant information”, said Mark Santistevan, ALBION SC COO. “This is a strategic partnership based on where we sit today and being able to evolve with the changing landscape of soccer into the future.”

“Partnering with Byga to deliver transformational technology for our clubs will allow us to provide the very best business, program, and operational strategies on which we’ll conceive, design, and evolve the next generation of digital tools,” said Noah Gins, ALBION SC CEO.
“Byga has shown their commitment to innovate and become the industry leader and we proudly stand behind them in their efforts. The future of club management is here.” Said Wayne Crowe , ALBION SC Director of Soccer

“We are excited to partner with ALBION Soccer Club in its player development mission as they continue to expand nationally. I believe Noah Gins’ and Mark Santistevan’s vision aligns very well with Byga’s mission to help elite clubs manage their growing and distributed organizations. By partnering with Byga, ALBION’s need for a holistic application provider to support all of their clubs and core goals for player development, operational excellence, and an industry-leading service level for players and parents is resolved.” Said Afshin Shafie, Byga CEO

The vision In 2001, Chris Baer and a group of Ohio Premier Soccer Club coaches traveled with their teams to play at the St. Louis Soccer Park (currently the World Wide Technology Soccer Park ), a six field soccer specific complex in Fenton, Missouri. When they got back to Ohio, they made a pact: to get Ohio Premier its own soccer complex Now, twenty years later, Ohio Premier boasts a five field complex with two full turf fields, two Kentucky bluegrass fields and a state of the art Bermuda grass field. “At the time, we were just a group of young, ambitious coaches with A licenses who wanted to keep challenging each other,” says Chris Baer. “We wanted to push each other and the club to improve. Having our own facility would allow us to do more for our players.” For the entirety of its history, Ohio Premier had rented fields from the city, competing with other clubs and sports for field space. The fields were grass, there wasn’t a single turf field in the area, and the club had to rent indoor facilities in the winter. Field rentals and facility costs were a significant portion of the club’s budget. When rental prices increased, the club began to seriously consider building its own facility The Ohio Premier board looked at building an indoor facility at first. “We spent so much on rentals in the winter that we thought it would make the most sense. Over time that idea evolved into building all-weather turf fields that would be playable all year long.” In addition to turf fields, Ohio Premier wanted fast-playing grass fields similar to those in Arizona and Southern California. “We would play against west coast clubs and our teams would be a step slower because we were used to playing on grass that just didn’t play as fast,” says Baer. “It was important to us to have a surface that would allow us to match their speed of play.” That meant that they wanted a full Bermuda grass field, a rarity in Ohio. Baer and the team knew what they wanted, but had no idea how to get it.
